We're bound to compare WHU under Bilic to WHU under the new regime. I bet that Moyes never reaches the heights of the Bilic first season but on the other hand I expect him to do better than the Bilic of the last eleven PL games.

Re: Stuart Pearce Alan Irvine + Stuart Pearce confirmed as assistants
Mike. There is never a single game that I dont want to win, I even hate old YouTube videos when the opposition score against us. So the thought that these fucking dwarves have against all the odds managed to appoint a managerial team that is 10 times worse than the previous one beggars belief.

Lets see, starting with Watford, if there is any change. And if we get beaten, lets not start with the 'its only 1 game' 'knicker-wetters' etc. We need to see a massive improvement in terms of structure and energy starting at Watford.

I desperately want to be proved wrong, nothing would give me greater pleasure than having to say I got it wrong and had to eat humble pie. Because that would mean West Ham are winning games.

.....and boleyn, there are some that'd be happy we crashed and burned down to the championship just to say they were right about the appointment. I've never backed against us and never will, I want us to win every game no matter who's in charge but the main change the club needs is in the boardroom

Re: Stuart Pearce Alan Irvine + Stuart Pearce confirmed as assistants
boleyn, I detest the owners and this appointment sums them up perfectly. clearly some hope moyes has a nightmare and is gone by christmas but all you'll get is yet another underwhelming, has been manager. until people get their head around what the dwarves are truly about, they'll continue to be disappointed

Just checked the bookies odds.

In the wake of the appointment of relegation specialists Moyes and Irvine, we are now 2/1 to go down.

Great job Brady, Sullivan and Gold.

Why would any decent player want to join West Ham? Or stay at West Ham?

Well the way Moyes has come in and laid down the law I thought he's been auditioning for Full Metal Jacket 2... Gunnery Sarge Moyes spouting off about Jelly DoNuts and Steers and Queers....

Re: Stuart Pearce Alan Irvine + Stuart Pearce confirmed as assistants
Takashi Mike. I believe that's what everyone said about Avram Grant. Then started saying about how well he had done at Chelsea, bit like Moyes at Everton. As I said history repeating itself. So how many games do you give him.

The way Moyes is being talked about in the media you would think that the fact he was in charge of a Sunderland team for an entire season and relegated them with only 24 points seems to not have happened at all. It's all West Ham have no chance of going down with Moysey at the helm. What a load of shit. We have every chance with this management dream team in place

ludo, I didn't want Moyes and think we have/have the money to have employed a far better coach but he's here so we have to get on with it. that was always my argument against getting rid of Bilic, people kept quoting names like Mancini but the owners aren't interested. obviously, this could be a disaster but I think the new man deserves a few games in charge before cunts start sticking the boot in

TBF I think I mentioned bringing in an army style PT guy and I think that's exactly what is required in the short term...

Keep it 'fun' but let the players know what's required... if they don't like it, bring in some players (from the youth) who give a toss!!!

Would never have been able to attract TOP names like Alan Irvine and Billy McKinlay if we had stayed at UP

Too much negativity on here

Re: Stuart Pearce Alan Irvine + Stuart Pearce confirmed as assistants
History repeating itself

Moyes. Sacked after relegating Sunderland. Winning 8 out of 43 games
Irvine. Sacked at West Brom after winning 4 of 19 games.
Pearce. Sacked at Forest. Wow, winning 10 in 32, ah but only 3 in his last 21.

I think we can all agree that this is without doubt the worst fucking 'Dream Team' since Grant, Petrovic and Keen were in charge. Still that worked out okay with 15 wins in 47 games. And as history repeats itself still further. They beat Man Utd 4-0 in the League Cup which was meant to be the 'start' of the season. Does that remind anyone of Spurs at Wembley. No of course not.

Only at West Ham could we manage to assemble such a sad bunch of losers to manage, well such a sad bunch of losers. Only one way this is going to turn out in my opinion. Relegation

no one mentioned a military boot camp other than you. i think you're right, what the club needed was another soft touch, friend of the players as that clearly was working so well under bilic

It will be interesting to see how they manage the prima Donna players. I think it could work in the short term as they may sideline the big names and bring the young ones through.

If I remember right wasn't it Pearce in charge of the 2012 Olympic squad and chose not to pick Beckham as he could not manage him. So, the same could happen here, if the new management team cannot manage the ego's of big players, they will manage them out, which may. not be a bad thing.

Why would players be scared of Stuart Pearce? Does he scythe someone down with a shocking challenge in the first 5 minutes of training just to send out a message?

I would have thought that as soon as he opens his mouth and starts talking bollocks, the players would stop listening immediately.

Re: Stuart Pearce Alan Irvine + Stuart Pearce confirmed as assistants
This is what Wiki says about Irvine's stint at West Brom:

After only seven months in the role, on 29 December 2014, Irvine was dismissed by West Bromwich Albion, with the team lying in 16th position in the Premier League having won only four of 19 league games under his managership, and just one point above the relegation zone.

Fantastic appointment. A list players all over Europe will be queuing up to join West Ham now with Moyes and Irvine, two of the biggest losers in the history of football management, in charge....

I am actually quite impressed by these appointments. Gives us a strong experienced backroom team. Can't however see that they would have joined for just 6 months, so we might have team Moyes here for longer than just this season. In "The Nowhere Men" (an excellent read for footy fans) the author, Michael Calvin, goes into detail about Everton's scouting methods under Moyes. It was really organised, with players identified for every position and alternatives should they be needed. Henry worked that system. If we can put that in place for the future and organize the first team we might just welcome these appointments.
